Join me on Saturday at 2pm for another episode of Hannah’s Bookshelf on North Manchester FM. This week, my guest will be the fab Rachel Handley.
Rachel is a science fiction writer, poet, and academic philosopher based in Dublin, Ireland. Originally from Southport, Merseyside, Rachel now lectures in Philosophy at Trinity College Dublin. Her poetry and fiction has been published internationally in venues such as 365 Tomorrows, Arlen House, and Poetry Ireland among others. Her debut philosophical short story collection, Possible Worlds and Other Stories, was published by Ellipsis Imprints in December 2022. Two of the stories from her collection, ‘The Sound’ and ‘The Man of the Sand’, have been nominated for awards. ‘The Sound’ was long-listed for The British Science Fiction Association’s Best Short Fiction Award, and ‘The Man of The Sand’ was nominated for The Pushcart Prize.
I’ll be talking to Rachel about science fiction, short stories, poetry and philosophy. And, of course, she’ll be sharing her selections for this week’s Apocalypse Books.
Catch the show at 2pm on 106.6FM (if you’re in the North Manchester area) or listen online (if you’re further afield).
