Barnabus is a Christian Homeless Charity in Manchester bringing hope and transformation to people experiencing homelessness and rough sleeping in our City for over 30 years. They focus on recovery; through person centred and trauma informed support. Working together with those, they seek to break the cycle of homelessness, releasing men and women from poverty, trauma and the effects of homelessness. They do this through their Support Team, Beacon Support Centre, Healthcare, Resettlement Tenancy Programme and their own Supported Housing.
Their support centre is a safe space for those who are sleeping rough, providing food, showers, fresh clothing and 1-1 support with our team to help them with their journey off the streets. Last year they supported over 1100 people who were experiencing homelessness, but since this time there has been a 50% uplift in people coming into the centre. Following all these visits, the support centre is in vital need of refurbishment. They are currently running a Crowdfunder to support us in this task but with only 2 weeks left, they’re are reaching out to the supportive community of Greater Manchester.
