North Manchester FM: Hannah’s Bookshelf, Saturday 20 April, 2-4pm

April 17, 2024

Join us this afternoon at 2pm for another episode of Hannah’s Bookshelf on North Manchester FM. This week, her guest will be the fab G.D. Howard.

G.D. Howard was born in Fallowfield, where he attended Mauldeth Road primary school. His family moved to Lymm in Cheshire where he attended Pepper Street primary school before going on to Lymm Grammar School. After Grammar school he went to Hull Business College studying Business Studies. His whole working career was about bringing stories to life. From being a salesman, area manager and then national account manager with Procter & Gamble, he was head hunted to adidas UK as sales and marketing services manager.

Howard retired after running his own event and communication company, to focus on family and friends. Moving from Staffordshire down to the Cotswolds was an inspiration and during lockdown he was encouraged by his family to write down the stories he had told his daughters and grandchildren. However, the story that emerged was nothing like the stories he had told his family! This was different and based on his love of nature plus his fascination for myths and legends. Both these elements feature heavily in his first published book, The Legend of the Green Wolf Rider.

She’ll be talking to Howard about The Legend of the Green Wolf Rider, and about writing and storytelling in general. And, of course, he’ll be sharing his selections for this week’s Apocalypse Books.

Catch the show on Saturday at 2pm on 106.6FM (if you’re in the North Manchester area) or listen online (if you’re further afield).
