Coming up on Bits & Bats at 4pm: Hannah Gardner from Dementia UK

Hannah is a general registered nurse with over 19 years of experience, including eight years as an Admiral Nurse with Dementia UK. She has extensive experience supporting families dealing with various types and stages of dementia, including rarer types, through her roles as a NHS Trust Hospital Dementia Lead Nurse, Dementia UK-delivered services, a role supporting rarer types of dementia nationally, and a hospice service. As the Consultant Admiral Nurse for Children and Young People, she advocates nationally for the needs of children and young people in families affected by dementia, ensuring their voices are heard in national policy work and research. Her work shapes education programmes, develops resources, raises awareness, and promotes best practices.

Hannah’s commitment to dementia care is deeply personal, driven by her mother’s diagnosis of young-onset Alzheimer’s in her 50s. This experience fuels her passion and dedication to improving the lives of those affected by dementia.
