Halloween Flash Fiction Competition

3 Minute Scares is back for its second year!

“Can you tell a scary story in just 3 minutes? Want to win a fantastic prize from Breakout, Manchester’s real-life escape room game? This Halloween, I’m once again looking for the spookiest flash fiction in Greater Manchester”, writes Hannah Kate who presents Hannah’s Bookshelf  on North Manchester FM 106.6 every Saturday afternoon from 2-4pm.

“The best 5 entries will be played on this year’s Halloween episode of Hannah’s Bookshelf (on Saturday 28th October)”, continues Hannah, “with the winner receiving a fantastic prize from Breakout and the title of Greater Manchester’s Spookiest Wordsmith”.

3 Minute Scares 2017 will be judged by horror author Simon Bestwick and Dr Sorcha Ní Fhlaínn of MMU’s Centre for Gothic Studies. The top 5 entries will have their stories played on Hannah’s Bookshelf, and will also have the opportunity to read them at the Boggart Hole Clough Halloween Lantern Parade later that evening.

The competition is open to anyone living in the Greater Manchester area. If you know anyone who might be interested in submitting an entry, please pass the details along. All you need to enter the competition is a computer/phone/tablet with a microphone (and a great idea, of course). Full details and instructions on how to submit your entry can be found here: http://hannahkate.net/3-minute-scares/
