BREATHE is looking for young dancers and poets (ages 16-25) for @MIFestival

BREATHE is part of Manchester International Festival’s programme of year round activity with New York based dancer Reggie ‘Regg Roc’ Gray and Manchester spoken word collective Young Identity. BREATHE is a dance and spoken word competition in which pairs of dancers and poets battle against each other, performing duets that showcase their complementary styles whilst telling a single story https://mif.co.uk/my-festival/breathe/

Following the success of the first project in April they are looking for dancers and poets to get involved in the next battle taking place in November and they are hosting relaxed auditions on Mon 22 Oct from 6-8pm at Studio25, 25 Church St, Manchester M4 1PE.

Successful applicants will need to be available to attend two-full day workshops on Sat 3 and Sun 4 Nov, two evening workshops on Thu 8 and Fri 9 Nov followed by being part of the final performance on Sat 10 Nov. This is a brilliant development opportunity for emerging young people to work with some amazing artists. All applicants will be invited to take part in a professional masterclass with Reggie and Young Identity subject to availability.
Please contact Ciaron on 07921 516951 or ciaron.wilkinson@mif.co.uk

Ciaron adds: “Please pass this on to anybody you think might be interested and do encourage them to get in touch even if they are unable to make the audition on 22nd Oct”.
