Wow what a weekend spent at The Beat-Herder Festival this year and North Manchester FM had the pleasure of soaking up all what this amazing place has to offer.
From the moment you get close to the site you can sense the feeling of anticipation. The programme describes the weekend as an orgy of beats and barminess and this statement certainly lived upto its expectations.
With so much to see and do and so many people you meet along the way the feeling of togetherness and long lasting memories almost comes naturally as you make your way around the festival site.
We had the pleasure of spending Saturday afternoon with local legend Manchester man Mark XTC as he smashed out some dirty beats in The Fortress. And meeting Jez from Utah Saints and watching their epic set on Saturday night at The Ring well this was a special moment. We also got the chance to catch up with Jez for a chat and you can hear all about his experiences this Friday 19th July between 12 – 2pm.
As we made our way around the site some other places we came across was The Laundrette a dance space filled with everything you would expect to find including washing hanging on the line. Then there is The Street which host’s its very own Barbers Shop. Festival goers can head there for a cut or a simple touch up as they party on!! Here we met Ali Guy who takes care of everyone, DJ Pheroz also caught up with her and you can also hear this interview this coming Friday.
Another area of significance was The Factory hosting a Stone Roses tribute band, Manchester band The Moods and closing this stage on Sunday night was the legendary Shades of Rhythm.
There are so many other areas including The Mainstage and The Toil Trees which hosted bands and Dj’s such as Sister Sledge, Groove Armada, Hannah Wants and Sonny Fodera. Not forgetting the market, the fire pit, the swimming pool, the campsite, the food, the sunset, the fireworks and so much more!!!!
This festival is a truly amazing experience we would urge anyone to try it at least once in your lifetime.
And you can do this by looking out for the 2020 ticket launch which takes place on Wednesday 31st July.
