Tune in to Hannah’s Bookshelf from 2pm this Saturday 24th July with guest H-J Hoyles

Join me on Saturday at 2pm for more from Hannah’s Bookshelf on North Manchester FM. This week, I’ll be chatting to the fab H-J Hoyles (aka Hadley-James Hoyles), who you may remember was one of the performers on this year’s (Not Quite) Live Poetry Special back in April.

H-J Hoyles is a poet, musician, author and teacher from North Yorkshire, who is based in Edinburgh. His poetry is concerned with the impact of nature on the human psyche, the effects of the landscape on mental health and cultural memory, and modern day myth-making. He is the founder of the Alcove poetry organisation in Edinburgh, a member of The Heretics, also based in Edinburgh, and has been published by the likes of Poetry Lab ShanghaiTogether Behind Four WallsThe InkwellYellerzineThe Klecksograph and MONO. His debut pamphlet, Songs of the Hen Ogledd, is available from Wild Pressed Books.

I’ll be chatting to Hadley about Songs of the Hen Ogledd and about his poetry and writing more broadly. And, of course, he’ll be sharing his selections for this week’s Apocalypse Books.

Catch the show on Saturday at 2pm on 106.6FM (if you’re in the North Manchester FM area) or listen online (if you’re further afield).
