Join me on Saturday at 2pm on North Manchester FM for more News, Reviews and Short Interviews on Hannah’s Bookshelf. Here’s what’s coming up on this week’s show…

An interview with Ramsey Campbell… I first interviewed Ramsey Campbell back in January 2016. Ramsey has been given more awards than any other writer in the field, including the Grand Master Aware of the World Horror Convention, the Lifetime Achievement Award of the Horror Writers Association, the Living Legend Award of the International Horror Guild, and the World Fantasy Lifetime Achievement Awared. His trilogy, The Three Births of Daoloth, further develops the cosmic horrors he invented in his first published book, The Inhabitant of the Lake. Born to the Dark is the second volume, preceded by The Searching Dead. And in case you’re curious, Ramsey’s selections for Apocalypse Books were Ulysses by James Joyce, Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov, and A Passage to India by E.M. Forster
A review of a book by Angela Buckley… I’ll be reviewing The Real Sherlock Holmes: The Hidden Story of Jerome Caminada, which is out now in paperback from Pen and Sword Books.
A review of a dance performance by Theatre-Rites… I’ll be talking about The Global Playground, a production that premiered at Manchester International Festival earlier this month.
And What Are You Reading?… the section of the show where I ask writers about the books they’re reading at the moment. This week I’ve got another selection of reviews and recommendations. And if you’re a writer who’d like to take part, check out this post with details of how to join in!
Plus… you can hear my round-up of news from the World of Words. If you’ve got a news story you’d like to share, please use the News Form to submit it to the show. For review requests, please get in touch via the Contact Form.
Catch Hannah’s Bookshelf on Saturday at 2pm on 106.6FM (if you’re in the North Manchester area) or listen online (if you’re further afield).
