Louise Finnigan lives and writes in Manchester. Her work has been shortlisted for the Manchester Fiction Prize, the Bristol Prize, the Cambridge Short Story Prize and she was longlisted for the Mairtin Crawford Award. Louise is interested in working class voices, particularly those who are negotiating their identity in a world which requires them to change themselves if they are to ‘escape’. Her story exploring these themes, ‘Muscle and Mouth’, came out with Fly on the Wall press this year. She is currently working on novel edits with Laura Williams of Greene and Heaton. She loves working with other writers and hopes to keep learning.
I’ll be talking to Louise about her short fiction and novel-writing, and about creative writing in general. And, of course, she’ll be sharing her selections for this week’s Apocalypse Books.
Catch the show on Saturday at 2pm on 106.6FM (if you’re in the North Manchester area) or listen online (if you’re further afield).
