Free Radio Training Course at North Manchester FM 106.6 Starting on 12th September

Thanks to funding from the Manchester Wellbeing Fund community radio station North Manchester FM 106.6 is running a free ten week radio training course every Monday from 10am until 12noon starting 12th September and running until 14th November.

“You’ll cover all aspects of radio production, from generating an idea for your show, to developing themes, running orders, scripts, interview techniques, radio law, promotion and engaging an audience plus all the technical skills you need to get you up and running” writes course leader Jason Cooke.

“The course will finish with you doing your very own live radio show on North Manchester FM. No experience is necessary! All you need to bring is yourself and your ideas!” adds Jason.

“We would like to offer opportunities to more individuals to get involved specifically from those communities that are currently under represented on the station. We hope that many of those on the course will go on to be presenters of their own show on North Manchester FM 106.6 to reflect the diversity of the local area” adds David Kay, Station Manager.

The course will take place at The Centre/ Harpurhey Neighbourhood Project, Carisbrook Street, Harpurhey, Manchester, M9 5UX.
