An interview with Pepper Gomez… I first interviewed Pepper in April 2019. Pepper is the founder of the record label, Wake Up! Music Group. She started writing poetry in 5th grade. Decades later, she now calls herself a poet after entering her first contest and achieving finalist status in the prestigious Andres Montoya poetry competition. Her 9th volume is currently being hand bound. In case you’re curious, Pepper’s selections for Apocalypse Books were Joy of Cooking by Irma Rombauer, The Herb Book by John Lust, and A Little Book of Teachings by Babaji of Haidakhan.

A review of a new book by Neil Buttery… I’ll be reviewing A Dark History of Sugar by Neil Buttery (out now from Pen and Sword).
A review of a new anthology from Cōnfingō Publishing… I’ll be talking about Waiting for the Gift: Stories Inspired by Low, edited by Richard V. Hirst (out now from Cōnfingō Publishing).
And What Are You Reading?… the section of the show where I ask writers about the books they’re reading at the moment. This week I’ve got another selection of reviews and recommendations. And if you’re a writer who’d like to take part, check out this post with details of how to join in!
Plus… you can hear my round-up of news from the World of Words. If you’ve got a news story you’d like to share, please use the News Form to submit it to the show.
Catch the show on Saturday at 2pm on 106.6FM (if you’re in the North Manchester area) or listen online (if you’re further afield).
